Objectives:

 The main objectives of the project are:          
             

  • To assess the habitat types and identify the areas to be designated as EIA's.

  • To estimate the areal extent of each ecologically important area and delineate the boundaries on the satellite imagery of 1:12,500 scale.

  • To prepare a report on the EIA's including their importance and need for conservation.

     The identified and designated ecologically important areas (EIA's) will be declared as no-development zones. Management plans for these areas will be prepared by scientific institutions and approved by the NCZMA. Necessary guideline for the purpose of planning and managing these areas shall be the concerned by NCZMA. The approved plan shall be implement by the concerned State/UT Authorities. Such a management strategy will ensure the sustainable development and management of coastal environment.
